The Day By Day Child Development Center is a locally owned and family operated childcare center. We have been providing quality care to infants 6 weeks to children entering Kindergarten since 1996. We are licensed for 70 children through the Minnesota Department of Human Services. We proudly provide a small, family friendly atmosphere at one location with competitive tuition and small group sizes. Part-time rates are available for all ages. Tuition assistance is available in conjunction with Dakota, Washington and Ramsey Counties.
Day By Day is a place that recognizes each child's individual growth and will provide experiences to help the whole child develop to their fullest potential. The importance of a healthy self concept is the essence of this early childhood facility. Each day children develop physically, intellectually, emotionally and socially. Every child is treated with dignity and respect and is valued as a unique person capable of worthy ideas and actions.
Day By Day is conveniently located at the intersection of 35E and Diffley Road in Eagan. Our location makes our program attractive to families from several communities. We are also located near several large employers such as; Blue Cross/Blue Shield, West Publishing, Northwest Airlines and 3M.
Our Mission
To provide positive experiences for all children to grow and develop to their fullest potential. To respect each child by listening, loving, caring and teaching. To respect each parent by listening, caring and loving their child. To respect each teacher by listening, caring and valuing their ideas. Curriculum
Day By Day provides a unique program for all children. We use age appropriate and culturally diverse activities based on weekly themes. Teacher created curriculum enhances the development of cognitive, social, emotional and physical skills. Daily schedules for each classroom will include a variety of the following activities:
Circle Time: A large group gives children the opportunity to develop socially. It is the perfect format for sharing exciting experiences with children and teachers, singing songs, playing games or listening to stories. Teacher directed activities are the focus of circle time which occur at various times throughout each day.
Art: Various materials are available daily for opportunities of creative expression. Art time is a combination of teacher planned activities with specific materials and creative art with each child making choices from all available materials.
Play/Interest Areas: These areas are focal points in each classroom and include; sensory, science, blocks, manipulative, books, music and dramatic play.
Outdoor Play: This is an important part of each day. We believe it is vital to the total health of a child. Weather permitting, we spend time out of doors each day.
Computer Time: A variety of educational computer software is used by preschool children to enhance their intellectual development.
Preschool Enrichment: This program incorporated into the preschool daily curriculum will provide preschool children with opportunities to participate in specific educational and social activities that enable the children to enter school with the necessary skills and behaviors to progress and flourish.

Infant Program (Rock-A-Babies and Curious Crawlers): ages 6 weeks through 16 months.
Our experienced infant staff nurture a warm, loving relationship with each child. Infants receive attention and care with flexibility to follow individual schedules. Language and social interaction develop through reading, singing and conversation. Creative Art and sensory experiences such as water play enhance mental growth. Each infant is able to develop physically by using walking toys and small climbers in our large muscle room.
Toddler Program (Imagination Station): ages 16 month through 30 months.
Through play, we help each toddler learn to joyfully master language, motor skills and social development. Classroom experiences develop self control, cooperation and communication. This program is developed as an extension of our older infant program. We continue to offer attention and care with a more structured schedule, yet still allow flexibility among individual children. Creative Art and Sensory are key activities in our day. At this age we begin to introduce the children to circle times. The importance of being part of a group must begin at an early age. Belonging and being part of the group helps each child flourish as they move on to Preschool and Kindergarten.
Toddler/Preschool Program (Rainforest Room): ages 31 months to 42 months.
This program will continue to enhance each child's developing skills. Language, motor skills, intellectual thinking and cooperative play will further develop in this more structured environment. Children will build a healthy self-concept by making choices from several areas of the classroom. Teacher created curriculum will challenge children to create, think and explore individually or as a group. Socialization continues to be an important part of their day. This will develop through the choices the children make throughout their day and as teachers guide and direct them in their play. Self-help skills are encouraged in this program as well.
Preschool Program (Techno Kids): ages 42 months to Kindergarten.
This program is designed to further develop Readiness skills as well as continuing development of social, emotional and motor skills. A variety of learning areas such as; science, computers and sensory are available for all children to choose from. Kindergarten readiness skills specifically include alphabet and pre reading skills, number and math skills and problem solving skills. All activities implement ideas of respect and responsibility among friends, teachers and property. Self-help skills continue to develop and may even be mastered in this program.
